“The Improbable Two-putt!”

Craig Heiser Wins the Woody Cup!!  In doing so earns just enough points to secure his name on our first Ozone-MFC Cup as the "MFC Champion of the Year"....

The weekend started "fast" for Mr. Heiser, and in the sheer excitment of attending this 5th installment of the WCC, he was cited for alledgely breaking the speed limit in Anderson County.  With his ears pinned back, and his focus honed in on capturing our Club's inagural Championship, Howsy found himself standing over a 2-putt-to-win scenario on the 18th green.  Only problem was he was 25 feet above the hole on greens that can only be described as lightening fast.

No worries for this seasoned pro.  Rather than risk leaving his first attempt above the hole, Howsy lagged his putt a mere 22 feet past the pin, ensuring himself a very makeable up and in...and that is what he did.  Tournament locals have regarded this momentous feat as, "The improbable 2-putt"
You can read Howsy's re-cap here.

Early this year, The MFC had the distinguished honor of being introduced to the Ozone Club       (Est. 1901).  The Ozone Club has achieved, through its Century of existence, much of what The MFC aspires to.  E-mail & phone communication could only take us so far, so the logical next move was to invite down two of the Ozone Clubs' Executive Members and allow them to experience our little gathering...Shizzle-style.

Thus, down came Walter Smedley III and Carl Berlinger (both of whom have been extended Membership Emeritus status to The MFC) and as fate would have it, Walter grabbed his first Green Jacket.  His -9 at PFCC was only good for a T-4th position, but his deft selection of Vanderbilt graduate, Brandt Snedecker and Great Britians Ian Poulter took him deep into the red posting a 2 shot, field clearing -16.
